I have a confession to make: as a cook, I am much more a savory guy than a sweet guy. The origins of this may be my taste — I lack a significant “sweet tooth” — but I suspect innate talent (or lack of it) is part of the picture. Expect great things from me for appetizers and main courses. Expect “pretty good” for dessert.
I’m off! I left town just before July 4th, and will be on the road doin’ all those wonderful summer things until next week. So…no Tuesday post this week…look for my next on Tuesday, July 16!
By the way, just before leaving New York…I attended the Summer Fancy Food Show, and tasted some wonderful things (among my faves, in timely fashion, were intense sun-dried tomatoes from Egypt!)
Fourth of July does not have to be all hot dogs and burgers! In fact, I like to celebrate this day by paying homage to the various ethnic strands in our great big beach blanket. This year, I decided…it’s going to be Greek. Not too difficult, when the homage is this delicious!
Hope you had as much fun last week taking my gastro-quiz as I had creating it…not to mention the fun I had poring over your answers!
Nearly 300 people took the test and, as I expected, some questions drew very confident blocks of correct answers, while some questions were more confounding.
I love the sweet-sour-salty flavor collision of this exciting pizza.
